.....Soper?...Sopar??...ah! yes Sopor!.Ok.So what if it is my personal favorite?...Im not going to say anythin' about the condemned & forsaken multispirited persona of Anna-Varney(...Cantodea),This last release of Sopor Aeternus,isn't really new.On the contrary,it is a somewhat cover version of their demotape trilogie(Blut der Schwarzen Rose),but titled by the name of the first-concieved demo (Es Reiten...).
Personally i feel that this release, comes only for the fans of the group, who couldn't find the demoworks anymore or who had it but were refrained to listen to it because of its awful quality!
The songs now are utterly trasmutated into pure gold!the production is superb (like all the last Sopor works).The atmosphere is gloomier and heavier than never before.The chillin' ,stutterin' voice-lamentation of Anna is abominable and truly unique in parts,than the previous releases,though still death-like and medieval-clad! Anna traveled me several years back, when for the first time i listened his/her timid attempt on discography,the fabulous ''Ich Tote Mich....''.
Nonetheless,i have to warn the new-coming Sopor-followers that it is not an album that i would propose someone never listened before of the group,to begin to, startin' from this album!That doesn't mean though that is a far fetched listenin' process.No,surely not,but it bears the fragments of the band's very old past,which has nothin' to do with the latest releases,that sound more classically orchestrated than the first works that lacked of quality and Anna Varney's Experience!That isn't a hint about the new album's musical arrangements,of course not!Varney gave those ''buried'' songs,the grandeur they deserved.
Ending,with this Golgotha called review of my best group-artist ever!!(...i mean it!!),i have also to mention,that this new album comes in 3 fantastic formats.The 1st one as a common cleartray cd with a 16 pages booklet.The 2nd,as an A5 40 paged book,in black linen embossed with silver letters and with the most abominable photos of Anna ever been published before,and limited to 1999 copies!!the 3rd comes as an Lp-sized box,includin' a gatefold of two picture disks,2 posters 60x90,8 cardpostals,a T-shirt!!!,a small plastic bag with some graveyard soil!!(yes indeed!!!!),and another small bag with three corpus christi (the round stuff called the body of jesus,that the catholic priests commune their religionists every given sunday!!!),but with the Sopor Aeternus emblem on it!!!It is also self-signed by Anna Varney with a dedication and is limited to 666 copies!

FIOUUUU!I'm through with it!!!!
