Well MM is back and the only question is who's up for the ride?
What has changed? There is a new member around and his name is Tim Skold (Yes he is the former KMFDM bassist). MM's nickname has changed as well and this time it is "Herr Doktor" and the whole album has something of the glam of the pre-Nazi Germany. TGAOG is not as up tempo as Mechanical Animals and Antichrist Superstar but it is more industrial (thanks to the co-production by Tim Skold).
The truth is that it is not an easy album. It will be very confusing in the beginning and everything will sound like a bad mix of sounds. It takes time for this album to grow in you but when it does you start to recognize beautiful melodies and great riffs all over the songs. The lyrics are as usual sarcastic but this time they are more intelligent. MM attacks the American society and provokes his enemies ("Haters call me bitch, call me fagget, call me whitey, but I"m something that you'll never be").
For me it is the best album of MM for he seems more mature than ever (not less pervert though) and according to his sayings "Now starts the era of MM as an Artist". It has stayed in my cd-player since May.
Note:The disc comes with a DCD which contains a 23minute film by MM himself.

"This isn't music and we're not a band
We're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand"
