Deine Lakaien. Hmm! A very emotional band of low profile. I donʼt know if I can really be fair with them ʽcause I adore them so much! Iʼll give it a try. The Dark Star album is a great one with renowned Deine Lakaien songs such as Dark Star and Love me to the end. Hornʼs music as always exceptional and Veljanovʼs heavenly voice as always perfect and emotional!

Dark Star : A classic Lakaien masterpiece. A song with lots of beat and dark atmosphere. Veljanov sings :
Dark star you are the light of my night
Dark star wonʼt you be my guide
Dark star why do you run from me
Dark why donʼt you kill me
and we all bow in front of his majesty.

Reincarnation : Lyrics that speak of the reality that we all live in. A nice song with good keyboard ideas and a Veljanov as good as always.

Down down down : Nice keyboard introduction followed by operatic vocals and guitar melodies in the renowned gothic rock way and of course some electro ideas mostly in the refrain. And of course Veljanov is here again with his interpretation.

Fruhlingstraum : A pretty melancholic and esoteric song. Both music and lyrics keep you chained in a world of sweet misery. Lyrics that speak of a painful situation where all hope has died and all trying was in vain. Everything beautiful was only a dream and when the hero woke up that everything was a lie, a hidden hope, a hidden beautiful world existing only in his dreams.
All the instruments taking place in the song create an asphyxiating atmosphere and then comes violin to cut you up with its sweet melancholic melody.
Veljanov vivid as always, sings from his heart and every word is made up of a picture. We again bow in front of his vocal skills.

Love me to the end : What can one say about this masterpiece. We all know it, but Iʼll write something about this so special song for me!
Perfect lyrics talking about how special love can be for two human beings if it is, what we call, real love, in a moment when the couple prays love me to the end. I could only write the whole lyrics of this song (and nothing more) and I think it could be a complete review of this song! Hornʼs music creates an ideal atmosphere for such a song and accompanies Veljanovʼs unique way of expression and everyone else is silenced. An exceptional song!

Made in heaven : Another great song after a great song.

In my opinion the best moment of the album! Pure depression and melancholy are the only emotions coming out of this moment with really painful music and lyrics and a Veljanov emotional and vivid. The rest moments of the song are good with electro sounds, but not as good as the Looking down.

Days gone by : A bonus track in the new edition of this album, Really poetic lyrics surrounded by dark atmosphere! They know how to do it and they do it real well. Horn and Veljanov, Veljanov and Horn, a great duet! Synths and electro sounds are the main sources that produce this dark atmosphere and at times you can hear operatic voices contributing to this song.

The night of love : Another Lakaien song with synths, beat, operatic female voices (they contribute to the emotional atmosphere of the song) and of course the one and great Alexander Veljanov!!! Lyrics that talk about love.

Ulysses The last song of the album is nothing more than a good song and a good one to conclude this great album! Again the music, which is based on synths, surrounds the always great Veljanovʼs lyrics!
