This album is the first of Manaʼs new solo project Moi dix Mois. This album is very nice actually, if you consider that itʼs Manaʼs first step into metal territory.
Just like all of Manaʼs albums this one is very versatile and its songs vary greatly from one another.
Iʼll give here a short description of every song
Dix Infernal
This is the intro to the album. Very Cradle of Filth-like atmosphere. I canʼt really make out what it says but itʼs still very good.
La dix croix
A very nice neoclassical goth song. It starts with a super-fast inferno of harpsichord, after which the guitars play a beautiful and fast melodic riff, which accompanies Jukaʼs voice. The chorus is also very powerful Very nice song.
front et baiser
This song has one of the mightiest riffs Mana has ever written. Very fast harpsichords, loud circus-like drums, and quite the heavy guitars. This song is very energetic. One of my favourites
Ange
This one is one of my favourites of this album. It starts with winds blowing and thunder cracking. Then come hyper-fast guitar riffing, drumming and harpsichords on which the vocals gracefully dance. One of the most complicated songs Mana ever wrote.
tentation
The title is not a typo, itʼs just that Mana totally loves the number ten. Anyway this song starts with bells tolling (typically Mana), and then come female whispers saying something like Voice of temptation whisper you far away which is what Juka sings after that This one is a very operatic song. Very catchy
Solitude
This one is a very strong but at the same time very emotional ballad-like song. Starts once more with harpsichords, but after that enters a piano and guitars. This Solitude is quite a masterpiece, I must confess.
Pessimiste
This one is a weird song. Very techno-like, kind of reminds me of songs like Nps. Ngs. and Houkai Jokyoku of Malice Mizer. Itʼs very nice.
Gloire dans le silence
Gloire starts with a Kyrie-requiem-like canon. Itʼs a very dark song. Very catchy And with grunts by Shadow X
Lʼintelieur dix
This is a small interlude. Not much to say about
Détresse
Here we get another song full of harpsichords. Catchy melodies, beautiful vocals, as always the typical standard for Manaʼs music.
Priére
This song bombards us with guitar-riffs and fast drumming. It also includes the bandʼs grunter, Shadow X (rather silly nickname to tell the truth) This song is very nice.
Dialogue Symphonie-x
This track is my absolute favourite of this album. In fact this song is taken from the Dialogue Symphonie single But it is slightly changed. It is undescribable. How is Mana able to play his harpsichord so fast?
Dix est infini
The extro of this album Again something ununderstandable (itʼs not even japanese!) and then the door closes Thatʼs all folks!
The artists:
Mana (guitars, piano, keyboard, synth): What can I say about this genius. His compositions are undescribable
Juka (vocals): His voice is nice, no doubt, but not as versatile as that of Gackt an not as strong as that of Klaha (the funny thing is that Jukaʼs voice reminds of both of the other forementioned singers).
Kazuno (bass) and Tohru (drums) these two are the most energetic persons in the band. While they are not incredibly skilled, both play with immense energy and strength, making a very nice addition to the band.
Shadow X (vocals): Quite a mysterious person First of all nobody knows anything of this guy, not even how he looks like It could be that itʼs Mana himself who decided to experiment a bit on his own grunts, but I doubt it, since Mana rarely even talks.
K (guitars, vocals): K is the scariest of the band. Not much is known about him either. On the live shows of Moi dix Mois, however, he takes over the role of Shadow X.
