Can you imagine how difficult it is to describe a feeling? How would you describe happiness, sadness, or perhaps death? Those are somethings Mana can describe (through his music), and I cannot (with my reviews). Anyway Iʼll try
The second album of Manaʼs solo project is another step forward. It descents even deeper into metal territory while still holding true to Manaʼs composing style. Shadow Xʼs death vocals appear more often on this release, giving it a more atmospheric feel.
Well, letʼs take a look at every track, shall we?

Invite to Immortality
The intro to this album starts with a, once more, Cradle of Filth-like voice grunting something (which I once again canʼt understand), then starts a pompous keyboard tune which flows perfectly into the next track.

Nocturnal Romance
Here we have the mix of sounds Moi dix Mois bombarded us with in Dix Infernal: Hyper-fast harpsichords, guitars, drumming, and Jukaʼs beautiful voice (which sounds much more confident than in Dix Infernal). However we can, from the beginning already hear differences from Dix Infernal First of all, this time Moi dix Mois have guests (something that never happened with Malice Mizer). Two sopranos and three violinists This song is about love, as the title suggests, but it is full of energy Letʼs see how this turns out.

monophobia
This is one of the most beatiful songs in this release. While it starts quite aggressively it eventually drops, at which moment the chorus starts I which Juka and the two sopranos When I heard this song for the first time, I was totally flabbergasted.

vestige
This song starts with piano playing a very melancholic melody accompanying Jukaʼs low voice Youʼll have to listen to this song while reading the translation of the lyrics Believe me youʼll cry.

Vizard
Once more an intro with winds Then the drummer starts beating a rhythm, on which the guitars start playing a small riff of four notes Then that whole thing explodes in a really great riff in which enter the harpsichords, then the harpsichords play another riff after which the guitars attack once more And then we hear, full of energy, the death vocals of Shadow X, doing that thing which made him famous, grunts. The chorus goes with the whole band (except for Mana) screaming Vice in vice Vizard All in all this song is a really big thing Who had ever thought Mana (the girly-looking geek) could write a song that aggressive And weʼve got about four riffs in here that are all amazing

Mephisto Waltz
Another piano-driven ballad-like song with Juka singing together with the sopranos. A very passionate and beautiful song

MAD INGRAIN
The interlude of this album is nothing but a really great pompous, war-like tune played by an orchestra (or something like that), which then turns into a guitar-riff Simple but great

the Prophet
In the beginning this song reminds a bit of MAD INGRAIN, but later it turns into a very fast atmospheric song Very impressive.

Perish
This is an experimental track Just like Pessimiste in Dix Infernal It starts with a drum solo after which the bass plays a very nice riff The guitars are quite nice here but totally different than in the other songs, giving the song a arabian-like atmosphere. A very slow and doomy song Reminds me of Hand of Doom by Black Sabbath

Shadows Temple-x
This song is a slightly changed version of the single Shadows Temple Itʼs a very nice and fast duet between Shadow X and Juka One of my favourites of this album

silent omen
This is the extro of this album Starts with a tune played on the piano, a quite simple one actually, which then drops and then we hear a faceless scream Very simple but oh so atmospheric From what I understood it sumbolizes death

All in all this is a very impressive album, which can stand its own against the classics Mana created with his former band, Malice Mizer. Also, this album is the most emotional album Mana ever released. Mana lets the mask hiding his personality slide of just a little to show us some of his feelings and fears.
The fans of atmospheric metal will love this album. Also highly recommended for fans of symphonic keyboard-driven bands like Rhapsody or Nightwish
