Blutengel - The Oxidising Angel

Genres: Electronic, EBM
Released: 2005
Label: Out of Line
Full Size

"The Oxidising Angel" is the brand new release for Chris Pohl and his vampiresses. A mini album consisting of 11 tracks, 12 for the limited edition. The tracklist comprises remixes of both early and new material along with 5 completely new tracks.

However neither the number of tracks, nor the length of the album can be justified by its quality. Uninspired, dull, pointless if not irritating - that's the best that the new tracks could be described as. The title track, although it shares the above qualities, after the third listen will eventually stick in your head - so,
there is a chance it might make it to 'club hit' status. "Cry little sister", the cover to the 80's classic "Lost boys" theme, sounds like a bad karaoke version of the original with a bad english accent as well. The rest of the new tracks have no purpose at all on this 'mini cd' other than to drag out the total play time to
the hour mark.

The remixes save the rating of the album. Pretty good versions of Angels of the dark (remixed by Lost Area) and "Navigator featuring Sara Noxx (remixed by Noxx ,Rilinger)", both tracks from their former full length release "Demon kiss". Some descent versions of "The oxidising angel", "Leave the day (crystal tears remix)" and "Falling (remixed by Angelus Mortus)" complete the tracklist.

"The Oxidising Angel" is available in two formats, the standard and the limited edition. The latter including extra photo material, bonus track and the videoclip of the title track all bound together in a booklike case for whoever may care.
