The third album after their 2001 reunion, "Hau Ruck" demonstrates the band's musical muscles in a very clear and aggressive manner. Always at the forefront of modern aggro-industrial (a claim righteously their own ever since their debut in 1984), Sascha and the incredible Lucia Cifarelli lead the no-limits-anymore train of KMFDM right to collision course with politicians, religion and of course the "big schemes" of our times.
As in WWIII, the "War against Terror", the "moralities" of politics and the questioning of the awareness of the masses (passive receivers of establishment's rules) are the basic issues, along which of course KMFDM unfold their standard assault: guitars from hell, huge synths, screaming voices, frenetic samples.
Given the fact that, as it seems, Ministry seem to abandon the aggro-industrial territory, and Rammstein's pause from activity, (besides "Rosenrot" is not exactly their best work), KMFDM stand aside as the biggest name in aggro-industrial that still maintains an uncompromised stance against any sort of comformity, socially and musically. All the new bands in the aggressive edge of industrial music confirm their influence. Each new strike is warmly welcome. And overall, lesser songs like "Real Thing" are easily omitted, in the greater context of unleashed assault.
