This is the debut album of the band.It was firstly released by Tolerance Records(1994)- a label that Mesh themselves formed with the money they had earned from gigging and selling tapes- and then remastered and re-released by Memento Materia(1995). From the very beggining the band appeared quite mature, inspired and with well-worked lyrics and music. As regards the lyrics, they're very depressing and they have to do with love, betrayal and loneliness together with irony and a sort of rage for what is happening.I like them a lot. As far as the music is concerned, one can spot certain influences from the "Depeche Mode school". However, this is not working as a drawback because Mesh take the Depeche Mode sound one step further, developing it a lot by adding a great lot of synth-pop break-outs and modern electro elements. The result fits excellant with the feeling of the lyrics and with the vocals-lines.Although the album was released seven years ago it sounds still fresh and modern. The production (I'm reffering to the Memento Materia release as the Tolerance Records one isn't available anymore) is quite good as well. Definetely, check it out!!!
