The Subjects - Center Of The Universe

The Subjects - Center Of The Universe

Genres: Techno
Released: 1992
Label: Undertow Records
Full Size

Brilliant, kinky, old school sounding techno, and apparently the very first release of Chicago based "Undertow Records", with catalog id: TOW-001.

Released as a 12-inch with 4 songs:
a1. Center Of The Universe (Explicit Mix)
a2. Center Of The Universe (Instrumental Mix)
b1. Drink From Heaven (Explicit Mix)
b2. Drink From Heaven (Instrumental Mix)

As the titles themselves suggest, you're getting two different versions of two tracks, one with female vocals and an instrumental version.

All four tracks are wonderful in their own right, a great aural stimulator from start to finish (only downside been that once you reach that finish you'll be begging for more. See it's really just like sex). Great loops that drill into your head, repetitive, but with a punch, just like my fancy, and with a hint of kink. Ok, make that a bucket load of kink. Gee, I wonder how bucket load crossed my mind. With lyrics like "The center of the universe is my pulsating and maddening vagina" (i'm intrigued, please tell me more...), you are unlikely to get bored. I leave it to your imagination to guess what Drink From Heaven is all about.

Pretty hard to find, but it makes a cameo appearance on ebay every now and then, and there are some 2nd hand copies changing even more hands, mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands, if you're determined enough to get your hands on it. So to speak.

Goes great with Belgian waffles. No coincidence i reckon.

yeah techno, while it's hard enough to expand your mind (i think it's just like putting off going to a doctor, some ppl postpone it forever), it's nearly impossible to shrink it back once it has been expanded.

enjoy the Belgian waffles for now ;-)
